As Interim Chief Administrative Officer of the County, I will continue to keep our citizens up to date on their County government and to provide visitors as much information on Marion County as possible. The information on this website can be a tool to provide information on Marion County.

The day to day operations of the county falls under the authority of the County Administrator who is hired by the County Council. Marion County has a Council/Administrator form of government.
The Administrator executes the policies, directives, and legislative actions of the County Council.
The Administrator has administrative oversight for all operations of the government, with the exception
of departments governed by elected officials.

The County Administrator prepares the annual budget for submission to Council, implements the approved annual budget, and supervises the expenditure of appropriated funds. The Administrator also provides management, coordination, and communication on state and local issues, and works with community agencies to promote and organize county government activities.
