ABOUT YOUR SHERIFF

Brian Wallace began his career in law enforcement with Marion County Sheriff's Office in 1999 as a road deputy.  Wallace worked hard and was promoted to the Criminal Investigations Division.  In 2005, Wallace was assigned to the Marion County Combined Drug Unit and in 2007 became the director.  Over twenty years later, he has reached the pinnacle and is our beloved Sheriff.

Sheriff Wallace makes significant contributions to our community through his time, actions, dedication, and compassion on a daily basis.   Even prior to becoming Sheriff, Brian was actively serving Marion County as a member of Rotary.  Since joining Rotary in 2011, Brian has served in many leadership roles.  Through Rotary, he was instrumental in numerous literacy programs.  These programs provided books for all ages, from newborn babies leaving the hospital to a library at the Marion County Adult Education Center.

While Brian has always served his community, being Sheriff allows him a much broader platform to serve from.  Sheriff Wallace is in the community seven days a week, 52 weeks a year.  Many days there are multiple events going on at once.  Sheriff Wallace always makes sure that someone is present to represent his department.  Rarely do you see an event that he is not a part of in some way, shape, or form.  The committees and boards that he is a part of are too numerous to name.

There simply are not words to adequately convey Brian's devotion to his county and her people.  He is not attending functions because he “has to”.  He truly wants to be where “his people” are.  Brian has never seen faces as just “votes”.  In his heart, he feels that he has a contract to personally serve each and every citizen of Marion County; to make this county a better place to live and raise a family.
