MEET THE DIRECTORJames “Jimmy” Floyd was appointed as the Director of the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center in March of 2019. Director Floyd began his career in 1989 with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office where he served for fourteen years before departing. He has over thirty years’ experience in the Law Enforcement and Security fields. Prior to returning to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office as Director of Detention, he served with the Horry County Police for three years and spent thirteen years deployed to Afghanistan where he provided security for the US State Department and the US Department of Defense.
