 Karen Collins is the Administrative Lieutenant for the Detention Center.  Lt Collins began her career with the Marion County Detention Center in 2014.  Lt. Collins became the Administrative Lieutenant in January of 2016.  Lt. Collins oversees all administrative duties with the Detention Center including the Commissary, Inmate Phone System, Visitation, Victim Rights Services provided by the Detention Center, and Inmate Restrictions.  Lt. tCollins is also responsible for Lobby Security, Lobby Security Officer, and Guest Services.

Monique Brown is the Operations and Security Lieutenant at the Detention Center.  Lt. Brown began her career in 2012 with the Marion County Detention Center as a corrections officer.   Lt. Brown was promoted to Sergeant in 2013 and then to Lieutenant in 2022.  Lt. Brown received her Associates of Science in Criminal Justice from Florence Darlington Technical College in 2012 and is working on a BS in Criminology. Lt. Brown's primary duties include Inmate Transportation, Inmate Court Appearances, Sentenced Inmates, Inmate Supplies, Food Services, Inspections, and Overseeing the Shifts.   Lt. Brown takes extreme pride in her work and considers her number one goal the safekeeping of those entrusted to his care.

Chip Smith is the Training Officer for the Detention Center.  Lt. Smith is responsible for our two week pre-service academy for all new hires as well as maintaining the training for all of the Detention Center employees for their continuing education requirements from the Criminal Justice Academy. Lt. Smith spent seventeen years with the New Hampshire State Police, and another year with the NH State Hospital Campus Police prior to moving to South Carolina.  After moving to SC, Lt Smith spent a year with the N. Myrtle Beach Police before coming to the Detention Center in 2020.  Lt. Smith was promoted to Corporal in 2022 and then to Lieutenant in 2023.

Lieutenant - PREA, Programs, Disciplinary Hearing Officer, & Recruiting

Nicole Hayes wears many hats at the Detention Center as the PREA Coordinator, Inmate Programs Officer, Disciplinary Hearing Officer, & Recruiter for the Detention Center. Lt. Hayes is a recent graduate of  Class # 48 of the prestigious National Jail Leadership Command Academy at Sam Houston University.  Lt. Hayes began her career at the Marion County Detention Center in 2020 as a corrections officer.  Lt Hayes was promoted to Sergeant in 2022 and after a brief period away from corrections applied for and was hired back at the Detention Center as a Lieutenant in 2023.
