General Statement of Duties

Under general supervision performs a variety of activities pertaining to the Marion County Prison Farm in accordance with established policies, regulations, and procedures. Performs those prescribed tasks such as guarding and directing inmates, patrolling assigned areas, escorting, preparing reports, inspecting property, preventing disturbances, supervising trustees, maintaining facilities, etc. This position reports directly to the Roads and Bridges Supervisor.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma with two to three years of experience at the supervisory/foreman level; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid SC driver’s license and CDL license. Must be able to attain successful completion of the required training from the SC Criminal Justice Academy.

Animal Shelter Attendant

Department: Marion County Animal Shelter

General Statement of Duties

Performs routine animal care and related duties at the county's animal shelter. The work involves taking complaints and dispatching animal control officers, cleaning and maintaining kennel areas, and performing related shelter duties. Workers carry out daily assignments, follow through on matters, and use independent judgment and training to take appropriate actions to deal with standard recurring situations.


 

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with one year of experience in an animal shelter or related field preferred; or a combination of education, training and experience that provides the above knowledge, skills and abilities. Have basic knowledge of animal behavior.

Food Hub Director

Department: Pee Dee Agriporium

Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on, creative and determined Food Hub Director to develop, lead and grow the organization, ensuring that our mission and contributions to the community are well-known and appreciated, and delivering sustainable financial support. Under limited supervision, the Food Hub Director will oversee and manage all activities of the Food Hub. The Food Hub Director reports directly to the Marion County Administrator, and leads a team which consists of those responsible for warehousing, distribution, marketing and sales, and coordinates educational efforts with university extension service agents, technical colleges, and others.

Education and Experience

The ideal candidate will have experience working directly with producers/farmers and demonstrated experience in the strategic management of agriculture-focused organizations, including senior leadership positions in government, nonprofit organizations, or operating units of private corporations. She or he will be experienced in financial management and have a track record of success in generating financial support for nonprofit organizations or comparable experience. In addition to effective communications and interpersonal skills, the desired candidate will possess the ability to inspire and motivate employees, community partners and donors to support the Pee Dee Agriporium’s™ mission.

An undergraduate degree in a related field is required; Master’s degree preferred. 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in senior level leadership and organizational management positions. Food Supply Chain or Food Systems experience required, including experience working directly with producers/farmers.

E-911Director

General Statement of Duties

The purpose of the class is to perform a variety of complex administrative, supervisory and technical public safety work in planning, coordinating and directing the County’s E-911 communications functions, and to perform related work as required. This class researches and formulates long-range goals for the organization, develops policy and position papers, and negotiates with chief administrative officers and/or elected officials.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires Associate’s degree, vocational technical degree or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college education with emphasis in emergency communications, telecommunications or a closely related field. Must possess NCIC certification, E-911 certification, Weather Watch and NIMS certifications. Must possess a valid state driver’s license.

General Statement of Duties

Under limited supervision performs various activities necessary in administering first aid to and transporting sick/injured persons to medical facilities. Coordinating with other response agencies, exercises responsibility for patients at scene and during transport. Minimum Qualifications

Minimum training and experience includes high school diploma, applicants must have a valid SC Paramedic certification or qualify for recipocity, BLS, ACLS, and PALS, provide certifications and be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Must have a valid S.C. driver’s license, have no criminal record, be at least twenty-one years of age and submit to pre-employment.
