General Statement of Duties

Under general supervision instructs, assigns and oversees the maintenance and repair activities of inmates assigned to the shop. Performs maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery used by the Roads, Bridges and Landfill departments. Reports to the Maintenance Shop Supervisor.


Minimum Qualifications

High school graduate/GED with vocational/ technical school training in the service and repair of mechanical systems including electronic ignitions, fuel injections systems, diesel engines, and manual/automatic

transmissions, with three to five years of experience in the repair of light/heavy equipment; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid S.C. driver’s license. Must be able to pass a welding skills test. Must be knowledge of basic engine repair work.

High school education with five to eleven months of experience in operating and servicing trucks or related light equipment; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Valid S.C. CDL license preferred but not required.

Animal Shelter Director

Department: Marion County Animal Shelter

General Statement of Duties

Under general supervision performs a variety of functions in support of the operations of the Marion County Animal Shelter. These functions include providing animal health care, supervising shelter staff, and coordinating shelter adoptions.


 

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma with practical training or experience in a veterinary or animal facility setting or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must have excellent animal handling skills, be familiar with veterinary terminology, and be able to conduct simple diagnostic procedures. Must be willing and able to obtain additional training as required by the County Administrator in the operation of the animal shelter. Must possess a valid S. C. Driver’s License and submit to pre-employment drug testing. Will be required to work on weekends as needed.

General Statement of Duties

Under general supervision performs an assortment of duties necessary in administering first aid treatment to and transporting sick/injured persons to medical facilities. Operates vehicle, prepares reports, conducts general housekeeping activities etc. Exercises judgement in dealing with patients and in various situations. Strives to ensure prompt response to emergency calls. Works under stressful, high-risk conditions, works on an on call basis. Reports to Director of Emergency Services/Paramedic.

 

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma and certification as an Emergency Medical Technician - any level, with two years of experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provided the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must hold required certifications including CPR. Must have a valid South Carolina Driver’s license and be at least twenty-one years of age. Must also submit to pre-employment drug screening.

The purpose of the class is to perform a variety of complex administrative, supervisory and technical public safety work in planning, coordinating and directing the County’s E-911 communications functions, and to perform related work as required. Minimum Qualifications

Under general supervision performs a variety of activities pertaining to the County Jail in accordance with established policies, regulations and procedures.
