Under general supervision performs routine clerical duties involving the processing and maintenance of real property ownership records. Under limited supervision, oversees plans and directs the activities & operations of the Building and Licensing department, ensuring compliance to the International Building Codes, Electrical Codes, and various ordinances. Reports to the County Administrator.


 

Minimum Qualifications

The Building Official shall have at least ten (10) years experience or equivalent as an architect, engineer, inspector, contractor, or superintendent of construction, or any other combination of these; for five (5) of which shall have been in responsible charge of work.  Must possess valid SC driver’s license & designated professional certifications. A CBO certificate shall be required to be obtained.

Emergency Management Director

General Statement of Duties

The purpose of the Director of Emergency Management is to manage the preparedness for, response to, and recovery from disasters or emergencies which occur within the boundaries of Marion County; to plan for and manage the County’s 911 Communications Center and 800 MHz communications system; and to perform related professional, administrative, and supervisory work as required. Remains on call 24 hours per day, seven days per week, for emergency response. This position reports to the County Administrator.


Minimum Qualifications

Requires Bachelor’s Degree or education and training equivalent to four (4) years of college education. Must possess a valid state driver’s license.  Successful completion of all required state and Federal required courses. Requires six (6) to ten (10) years of public safety experience, with at least two (2) years of management level experience.

Under limited supervision performs an assortment of duties necessary in administering first aid treatment and advanced life to patients and transporting sick/injured persons to appropriate medical facilities.  Operates vehicles, prepares reports, conducts general housekeeping activities, etc.  Exercises judgment in dealing with patients and in various situations.  Strives to ensure prompt response to emergency calls.  Works under stressful, high risk conditions.  Reports to Crew Chief/Paramedic and/or EMS Director.


 

Minimum Qualifications

Requires high school diploma or GED and Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic certification or qualify for reciprocity, with 2 years of EMS experience, or an equivalent combination of education training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.  Must hold required certifications including CPR, ITLS or PHTLS, ACLS, PALS or PEP and CEVO.  Must in good physical health.  Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license.

Under general supervision performs a variety of activities pertaining to the County Jail in accordance with established policies, regulations and procedures.
